vol. 7: boobs

free

boobs, chests, knockers, breasts, pecks, bosoms… symbol of fertility, sexual attractor… banned, blurred, topless—breasts are part of everyone's anatomy. They sprout during puberty, and there they remain for the rest of your life, regardless of whether or not you reproduce. This trait is unique to humans. For all other primates, breasts only swell while lactating. No matter what boobs mean to you, the fact is that as a human, your boobs evolve as you do.

In this manual, we dig into the changes and the symbiotic relationship between us and our boobs: the ways our breasts develop with us and the way we develop with our breasts.

content and medical facts created in consultation with Vivian Jolley Bea, M.D.

please note: in this manual we focus on breasts that belong to bodies with developed mammary glands (more on those soon). we acknowledge that breasts exist in many shapes and forms, and not all bodies and readers will identify with the “we” in this manual at all times.
